ToursMeg Davis, director and curator for the museum, gives special tours and presentations for groups. You can choose from these programs:
Additionally, you may also choose your own topic of interest and Meg will do her best to put together a tour and presentation tailored to your specific needs. During the Scavenger Hunt, competing teams of students are given a list of items to find within the museum. The 1-2 hour Idaho History Presentation is usually given to 4th grade students but can be adapted to multiple ages. The Hunt House Tour lets you experience home life in the early 1900's. Because the furniture and setting are fragile, this tour is reserved for those who can learn and observe without touching. The Little Red School House Presentation gives children a chance to experience learning with a teacher in a one-room school. This presentation can last from 1 hour to 1 day, depending on your preference. One-room school house "students" are even given a diploma upon completion of their "class"! The Emmett Community Presentation fulfills the Boy Scout's requirement for a community history badge. Children younger than official school age are welcome for tours and presentations, but need to be supervised carefully as all museum displays are "open", similar to what you would expect to find in an antique store.Maximum group size is 10-15. Larger groups can be accommodated by dividing into multiple groups of 10-15 which then take turns visiting various displays and listening to presentations by different museum volunteers. |
